City Receives Accolades for Financial Stewardship
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) presented the City of Crystal Lake with accolades for its financial stewardship for the 27th year in a row.
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has again presented the City of Crystal Lake with accolades for its financial stewardship for the City's Fiscal Year ending April 30, 2016.
The GFOA has awarded the City of Crystal Lake the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. Its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. This is the 27th year in a row the City has received this award.
This recognition is a direct reflection of the financial strength and management of the City of Crystal Lake. This award reflects the emphasis the City places on its role as financial steward.
The GFOA is a major professional association servicing the needs of approximately 17,500 appointed and elected local, state, and provincial-level government officials and other finance practitioners. It provides top quality publications, training programs, services, and products designed to enhance the skills and performance of those responsible for government finance policy and management. The association is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, with offices in Washington D.C.
