C.P.R. Class Information

 

Thank you for your interest in the Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) program offered by the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department. All classes are developed and sanctioned by the American Heart Association.

We are pleased to offer the following CPR courses:

HEALTHCARE PROVIDER
Fee: $30 Resident/$40 Non Resident
*Class Size: Minimum 4/Maximum 8
This course is designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device and oxygen), use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). Healthcare Provider is intended for individuals who provide healthcare to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in hospital and out of hospital settings.

HEALTHCARE PROVIDER RECERTIFICATION
Fee: $30 Resident/$40 Non Resident
*Class Size: Minimum 4/Maximum 8
This is a review of the healthcare provider course. Healthcare Provider Recertification is for individuals wishing to renew their Healthcare Provider Certification. Previous certification must have been within the last 2 years.

HEARTSAVER AED
Fee: $30 Resident/$40 Non Resident
*Class Size: Minimum 4/Maximum 8
The Heartsaver CPR Course teaches lay rescuers the basic techniques of CPR for pediatric and adult patients. Students learn how to recognize the signs of four major emergencies; heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest, and foreign-body airway obstruction. Heartsaver AED is intended for lay rescuers such as daycare employees, airline personnel, police officers, personal trainers, scout leaders, lifeguards, and those who may need to respond to an emergency. Successful completion of this course results a CPR certification card.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS CPR
Fee: $20 Resident/$25 Non Resident
*Class Size: Minimum 4/Maximum 8
This class teaches how to give CPR to an adult, child or infant. This is an informational course which does not result in a CPR certification card.

  • If a CPR card is required for employment or group involvement, please check with your employer or group organization to determine class certification requirements prior to registration.
  • All classes are taught at the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department, Station 1, located in the Crystal Lake Municipal Complex.
  • Special Requests to accommodate groups or organizations may be arranged. A minimum of 30 days advanced notice is required.

*If the class size minimum requirement of 4 students is not met one week prior to the date of class, the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department reserves the right to cancel the class. Students may reschedule or be refunded.
