Project Description
The McHenry County Randall Road Corridor Improvement Project will improve traffic flow for north-south freight and commuter traffic by widening and reconstructing the 1.3 mile section of Randall Road (Ackman Road to Acorn Lane/ Polaris Drive) in McHenry County, IL.
Randall Road/Rakow Road was widened to six lanes of traffic north of the project location in 2011 (Pyott Road to Alexandra Boulevard), and the McHenry County Division of Transportation completed the six lane widening of Randall Road south of the project location in 2021 (Acorn Lane / Polaris Drive to Harnish Drive).
The improvements will construct a bike path on the east side of Randall Road and a sidewalk on the west side. These facilities will link existing pedestrian and bike networks from the north to the south as well as provide connections to neighborhoods, parks and schools. Bus stop shelters will also be included.
