Project Description

The Three Oaks Road/Lutter Drive/Sands Road Intersection Improvements will install a new traffic signal to better facilitate vehicle movements through the intersection as well as adding a southbound left turn lane and northbound right turn lane. Sands Road will be reconstructed to reduce the vertical profile and a new multiuse path will be added along the south side of Three Oaks Road from the intersection east to connect to the existing path.

Current Project Update

• August 1, 2024: IDOT still has not officially awarded the project yet, and start date is unknown at this time. If work has not started by September, it is likely that the project will be pushed to the spring of 2025. 
• April 1, 2024: Tree removal was completed for this project ahead of the construction this summer. The project will be on the 4/26 letting from IDOT to determine the contractor for the project. Work expected to start in summer of 2024.
