On Saturday, August 6, 2011, The Crystal Lake Police Department and the Crystal Lake Downtown Association will be hosting a National Night Out Block Party. National Night Out is a nationwide event providing an opportunity for the community and local law enforcement to come together to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation. This year's National Night Out event will take place on North Williams Street between Brink Street and Crystal Lake Avenue. The event will start at 5PM and end at 9PM; admission is free. This will be an evening of music, fun, food and entertainment! Planned activities include: Karaoke on the Raue Center Stage, Baggo Tournament, Free Face Painting, Police and Fire/Rescue Vehicles on Display, Police Canine Demonstration, Police Gang Officer Display, a Display by the Crystal Lake Police Department's Emergency Services Team, Kid's Games, Live Music (featuring "The Stingrays" playing 50's, 60's and 70's Rock & Roll), and Plenty of Food. Onsite food vendors include: Galloway's Subs, Georgio's Pizzeria, Knights of Columbus and Pop's Corn Crib.
