Economic Development Commission 

The Economic Development Committee consists of nine volunteer members who are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. The Committee is charged with providing recommendations for ways to expand and retain existing businesses in Crystal Lake, in addition to promoting the development opportunities within the City.

Historic Preservation Commission

The Historic Preservation Commission was established to aid in the preservation of Crystal Lake's historic and cultural heritage. Through research, documentation, promotion, and protection of the community's historic properties, the Commission is dedicated to safeguarding our local legacy.

Planning and Zoning Commission 

The Planning and Zoning Commission consists of nine Crystal Lake residents. The Commissioners are volunteers appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. They review zoning and subdivision requests and make advisory recommendations to the City Council.

Sustainability Committee

The Sustainability Committee assists the City with promoting and achieving environmental sustainability initiatives, and continues the efforts of the former Ad Hoc Clean Air Counts Advisory Committee.
