Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Our highest goal as members of the City Council is to maintain and enhance the quality of life for all Crystal Lake residents. As elected officials, we are public servants, responsible for making decisions of policy and law, implemented by Crystal Lake’s highly professional City staff.

We are happy to report that Crystal Lake continues to thrive and offers an excellent quality of life with a positive, friendly environment for residents and businesses. Due to the efforts of many, including volunteer board and commission members, community leaders, and most importantly, our residents, Crystal Lake’s motto, “A Good Place to Live”, is certainly true. In fact, Crystal Lake was recently ranked 10th Best Small City in America!

Crystal Lake is also a great place to do business, as shown by our historic and robust downtown, our bustling Route 14 corridor, and our many manufacturing, office and service businesses. We work as partners for success to attract new businesses as well as to retain and expand existing ones to provide employment opportunities and a wide variety of shopping, dining, professional services, recreation, and entertainment options. We are thrilled that many new businesses are choosing to locate in Crystal Lake and that our existing businesses are prospering. Great things are happening in Crystal Lake!

We truly have it all; a unique suburban haven with an excellent school system, friendly neighborhoods, proven community safety, rich cultural experiences, and our many beautiful parks, including the premier Three Oaks Recreation Area, a gem for generations of residents to enjoy.

We are proud that Crystal Lake is a community of neighbors, and even though the City has grown, it has retained its “small town” friendliness, charm and spirit. We are honored to call Crystal Lake our home.

Sincerely,

Mayor Haig Haleblian and City Council Members Ellen Brady, Brett Hopkins, Cameron Hubbard, Mandy Montford, Ian Philpot, and Denise Smith.
