Domestic Violence Presentation

  • Introduction: Representatives from Turning Point and the McHenry County Judicial Center- Criminal Division will provide a presentation on Domestic Violence.
This program is free and open to all.

The month of October is recognized as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

You are cordially invited to join Chief James Black and members of the Crystal Lake Police Department for coffee, conversation, and an educational program on Domestic Violence.

During this segment of Coffee With The Chief, representatives from Turning Point, and the McHenry County Judicial Center- Criminal Division will provide a presentation on Domestic Violence.

According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence: On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men.
•1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men experience intimate partner physical violence, intimate partner sexual violence, and/or intimate partner stalking in their lifetime.
•1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men experience severe physical intimate partner violence in their lifetime.

This presentation is a great opportunity to learn the signs of domestic abuse and the services that are available to victims.
