The City of Crystal Lake is holding an Open House Meeting concerning improvements to North Main Street between Route 176 and Woodstock Street. This project scope of work includes the installation of a new traffic signal at the Route 176/North Main Street intersection, widening of Route 176 to include an eastbound right turn lane and resurfacing along North Main Street for the entire project limits.
The Open House will be conducted on an informal basis and representatives from Crystal Lake and their consultant will be available to receive feedback and answer questions. The purpose of the Open House is to discuss the need for the improvement, present the proposed improvement, and obtain public input. Project exhibits will be on display for review. Written comments can be submitted at the meeting or emailed to MainStreetProject@hlreng.com by November 10, 2017. Persons with disabilities planning to attend this meeting should contact the City Engineering at 815-356-3605 by November 6, 2017. If special accommodations are required, the contact person should be informed at the time of contact. The meeting room is accessible to a person with a disability.
This project is currently in the preliminary engineering phase. Upon completion of this phase, a report will be prepared describing the proposed work that will be submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation for approval. After approval is received, we will proceed with preparation of contract plans and with the land acquisition phase of the project.
