The City of Crystal Lake’s Administration Adjudication Division hears a wide range of cases involving violations of municipal ordinances that were once heard in the McHenry County Circuit Court. An Administrative hearing is a civil, not a criminal proceeding. Cases are punishable by fines and a variety of other penalties, excluding jail time.

The Administrative Adjudication Division hears, or may hear in the future, the following types of cases: 

• Police Issued Tickets
• Fire Code Violations
• Building Code Violations
• Zoning Violations

Fines can be paid over the phone at 815-459-2020, in person, by mail, or at the City's drop box for payment collection. All credit/debit card transactions are subject to a service fee.  Fees are remitted directly to the City’s payment processing agent.
