The Patrol Unit consists of thirty-three patrol officers, seven sergeants, and two patrol commanders. Sergeants supervise the squads of officers, while the patrol commanders oversee and coordinate the entire unit.

Patrol officers are routinely the first responders in most emergency and non-emergency calls for service, and thus are the most visible to the public. Officers patrol residential and business areas to prevent, observe, and suppress unlawful activity, while also monitoring the roadways to ensure public safety.

Many officers receive specialized training to assist in their duties. Our specialized training includes: bicycle patrol, crisis intervention, elderly services, evidence technicians, juvenile officer, and traffic enforcement.
