The City owns and maintains all trees on parkways, the area of grass between the roadway and a City sidewalk. Certified arborists, are on staff to properly care for the City's urban forest.
Parkway Tree Replacement, Trimming and Removal
Upon resident request, a City arborist will evaluate the health of a parkway trees to determine if it needs to be removed and/or replaced. Arborists consider several factors when making this decision, including: soil type, proximity to power lines, and the number of tree type in the area.
The City trims all parkway trees and remove dead and/or diseased trees from parkway areas. No vegetation or other items are allowed on the parkway without written consent of the City.
Trees on Private Property
The City is not responsible for trimming or removal of trees located on private property.
